From a stealth mint with zero marketing to the number one collection on Solana, and the community DAO it became.
Bored Ape Solana Club launched as a stealth mint on launchmynft.com, with no marketing budget at all. After almost two weeks, all 6,001 apes were minted on Solana at 0.69 SOL each, and the Discord grew from zero to more than 7,000 members, many of them first-time NFT collectors.
The mint closed on January 13 and, about 30 minutes later, the collection went live on Magic Eden. The fear of never being listed was gone, and the community took the news to Twitter and Instagram. Apes shared life stories, met in real life and built real friendships.
Within 24 hours the Discord reached 10,000 members. Three days after listing, BASC held a 20 SOL floor and was the number one trending collection on Solana: for OG members, a turning point for all Solana NFTs.
Today BASC is run by its community: sub-DAOs by trait, the $BASC token, staking tools and a family of projects such as XElementia, XE Raffles and BASC Lotto.
